Electrical Designer
Classic Engineering is a Grand Rapids, Michigan-based consulting engineering firm established in 1998.
Throughout Michigan, the Midwest and around the country, Classic Engineering’s work on thousands of projects over 20 years can be found “in the bones” of all categories of buildings. Our portfolio of work includes hotels, health care facilities, commercial and residential construction, multi-family, senior and independent-living projects, educational, government and church buildings.
We are currently looking for an Electrical Designer to join our team. The ideal candidate will design and document projects from start to finish and have experience with MEP and Revit. Attention to detail and excellent communication skills are a must.
Education:
High School Diploma
Technical School or on the job MEP training
BS in Electrical Engineering (preferred)
Technical Skills:
Revit Experience (able to edit and build families or wanting to learn)
AutoCAD Experience (preferred but not required)
Familiar with and willing to learn more about:
Power Distribution
Lighting Design & Control
Site Lighting & Photometrics
Fire Alarm and Security Systems
Sound and Telephone Systems
Responsibilities:
Designer will be responsible for developing Electrical Revit standards for office.
Preparation and review of Electrical construction documents and BIM models under guidance of senior Electrical Engineers.
Learn to develop and edit project specifications.
Review product shop drawings/submittals related to the Electrical design.
Review and respond to requests of information (RFIs).
Communicate with coworkers and clients in a professional manner.

Compensation:
Salary will be commensurate with candidate experience.
Range $50,000 - $80,000 per year.
